Casa De Coffee is another coffee station in Thamel. The opening ceremony was celebrated just a month back, 18th of November yet the place has as many customers as any other shop in Mandala Street! The starting of the shop has an interesting story of its own. The three owners who studied in Sydney together planned to start the shop a few years back. ‘‘It’s quite amazing that we actually started this shop. When we were studying we just had plans but somewhere we knew we were going to start the business yet it still amazes me’’, says Mr. Bipin Piya, one of the owners. The other owners Ruhee Shrestha and Santosh Gurung are still in the states making their career.
The coffee shop is small, sound and cozy and the smell of cakes and coffee and the comfy couches make you feel at home the moment you enter the shop. The menu has something more than just coffee and cakes. Sandwiches,
wraps, burger and different items of meat... quality imported meat give you a special treat. “The menu is a little more expensive than other places. After all we didn’t want to compromise
in quality,” says Bipin with a smile.
